Everybody moves at some point and it can be a very challenging & stressful time.
To help you along the way, we have created a comprehensive series of articles full of useful information including:
At 1 Van 1 Man, we do everything possible to make sure your removal runs as smoothly as possible. Working closely with all customers, we like to know as much as we can about the move, ensuring we are thoroughly prepared for every eventuality. We understand the stress caused by relocating properties, so make an extra effort towards planning and preparation.
When packing your items prior to the move, it is much better to use boxes, suitcases and rucksacks, rather than plastic bags and bin liners. In our experience, plastic bags have a tendency to tear during handling and transit, and we don’t want your items becoming dirty, damaged or broken.
We also ask that all boxes are taped and sealed closed, without being overloaded with too many items, especially those that are significant in weight.
In the interests of efficiency, we ask all customers to arrange their items near the exits of the building, taking care not to block any fire exists or restrict access in any way. Wherever possible, items should be grouped in this order:
If you are intending to move a fridge or freezer, please remember to defrost, drain and dry them fully before transit. Make sure you wait 5 to 8 hours before turning them on again once you’ve moved.
For larger pieces of furniture that need dismantling, we ask our customers to dismantle all items before we arrive to carry out the move. This will reduce the time it takes for us to complete the removal, making it easier to transport and offload your furniture at your new premises. Please remember, we do charge by the hour!
Please reserve a parking space for the removal van before we arrive. Please note that you may need to contact the local council to arrange a parking permit. Should the only parking space available be metered, customers are expected to provide sufficient amounts of change for loading and unloading the vehicle between transits.
The height of our Luton box van is 3.2 metres. Please let us know if this will cause any issues regarding low bridges and car park barriers etc.
